The Family Engagement Series provides families with resources that will assist with their student’s success. The series is led by the Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Compliance Department, in collaboration with other PWCS programs, and community and business partners.

Focus: "Woodbridge Area" Elementary School Naming Community Engagement Session at Todos Market

Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) is beginning the naming process for the new “Woodbridge Area” Elementary School, opening in the 2026–27 school year. The school will help relieve overcrowding in the Route 1 corridor, and attendance boundaries were approved on February 4, 2026.
Community members are invited to submit name suggestions and supporting background information by April 15, 2026.
Per Policy 854, the naming committee will consider names that:
- Reflect local neighborhoods or places of historical, geographic, geological, or cultural significance, or
- Honor individuals or groups who have been deceased for at least three years and who demonstrated leadership in education, the arts/sciences, or public service.

Intended for all students and families, this session will focus on strengthening family engagement practices. Strategies for building authentic partnerships between families and schools will be provided, emphasizing communication, trust, and shared responsibility for student success. Participants will leave with actionable tools to create inclusive, collaborative environments that support both parents and staff in fostering meaningful engagement.
