Monday, October 26th (Asynchronous Day)

  • Juniors and Seniors: Register for an amazing event! We will have a panel of current college students who attend various HBCUs (Historically Black College or University) who will come speak to our Juniors and Seniors about their experiences.
  •  Math Honor Society Interest Meeting at 12 p.m.  Any student interested in joining should send an email to Trisha Turner at before Oct 26.
    • Mrs. Turner will email a zoom link prior to the meeting.

Tuesday, October 27th (Even Day - 2,4,6)

  • SAT Testing for Seniors who have registered
    • Asynchronous Day for seniors who have registered      
  • Science Fair interest meeting at 4:00 p.m. Dr. Sanders will discuss  an overview of the science fair, requirements and culminating benefits as a contributor in the Science Fair expo.

    • Students record of a video of your 1 mile run/walk experience and share

  • Virtual Service Project
    • Students put together care packages/letters for the elderly or healthcare  workers
      • Packages will be November as a "Giving Thanks for You" gesture

Colgan National Honor Society

  • Welcome back to our chapter members. Current members of the CHS National Honor Society have been invited to our Canvas hub. We’re excited to begin our service for 2020-21.
  • The National Honor Society will be contacting eligible potential members of the Class of 2022 in late fall 2020. Information about the application process will be provided at that time. Colgan Athletics

  • Colgan eSports Team is looking for interested students. Students can self-enroll in the eSports Canvas at
  • Physicals and concussion documents can be dropped off at Colgan during regular school hours 7 to 4 p.m.

  • Amazon Web Services Girl's Tech Day
    •  FREE virtual event with sessions from November 14 – 28 for girls between the ages of 8-24 so they can explore Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Coding, Virtual Reality, Robotics, hear from great speaks and more!
  • Virtual Student Chat with Colgan Counselors-- Drop-In Sessions for Students
    • Coping Strategies- All grade levels - Discuss techniques for coping and self-care in relation to current circumstances and world events.
  • Coffee with Counselors
    • Senior College & Career-- Brief demonstration of navigating college/career info posted on Canvas & Naviance, followed by live Q & A
  • Leadership Opportunity for Sophomores: Colgan High School will select and pay for one Sophomore Student to attend the HOBY Virtual State Leadership Seminar June 5-6, 2021! The student will spend two exciting days exploring leadership from an individual, group, and societal perspective while collaborating with students from throughout the state.
  • Please submit a 200-400-word essay stating why you should be chosen to attend this seminar and how you believe you will benefit from this experience.
    • Submit the essay to Dr. Byrd at by Nov 16th.

  • The Colgan Counselor Podcast is back with Season 2! We’re starting this year’s podcast off discussing the challenges of COVID and virtual learning, and who in our lives can be our “lifeboats” when we feel like we’re sinking into the doom and gloom.

  • Attention Juniors, Class of 2022! The Prince William County Youth Salute Council, a member of the National Council on Youth Leadership, is now accepting nominations of young people who have displayed outstanding ability in leadership and academic achievement. The nominees must meet the following criteria:
  1. Be a member of the Junior Class (Senior Class 2022)
  2. Have a cumulative 3.0 grade point average at the end of their sophomore year. Students can check their GPA in StudentVue under Course History
  3. Have held TWO LEADERSHIP ROLES to which they were chosen by their peers or an adult leader within the past two years in school, religious or community sponsored organizations
  • Students who meet the eligibility criteria should contact Mrs. Swift ( for a nominee application packet. All information must be submitted via e-mail before 11:59PM on October 28, 2020 to Mrs. Swift for consideration
