Colgan Student Ranked Among America's Top 40 High School Scientists

Rania Lateef was named a finalist (top 40) in the 2025 Regeneron Science Talent Search. The Regeneron Science Talent Search 2025 finalists represent 39 schools across 16 states. Students are competing for more than $1.8 million, with a top prize of $250,000. Finalists were selected from 300 scholars and 2,471 entrants, the largest pool of applicants since 1967, based on the originality and creativity of their scientific research, as well as their achievement and leadership both inside and outside of the classroom. Rania earned her place among the top high school scientists for her project "Rhythm and Blues: Evaluating the Impact of Artificial Light Exposure and Circadian Disruption on Biobehavioral Systems in Drosophila melanogaster
