Requirements

• Must have a valid VA Learner’s Permit
• Must have completed Classroom Driver Education (be issued the DEC-District 8 Certificate of Completion Card – pink card)
• Have at least 10-15 hours of practice driving with parent/guardian

Behind the Wheel Instruction

• 7-day course - Students will complete 7 periods of Driving and 7 periods of Observation
• On the 7th day each student will be evaluated during a Road Test
• Sessions are scheduled after school hours – usually 2:20pm to 4:20pm (may be subject to change, depending on instructor)
• Cost is $240
• Must be able to provide transportation home from Colgan HS each day. Student Pick Up will be in front of Door 28. (Right hand side of the building, across from tennis courts)
• Students will be in groups of 2 with 1 Instructor and are required to wear a mask

Colgan High School

• Please email Mrs. Viggiani for availability or length of the waitlist before registering and paying online
• Colgan works from a waitlist. Once a student’s name comes up on the waitlist then their instructional dates and times are scheduled. Instructional dates should be 7 consecutive days (excluding weekends/holidays). A student will need to be able to commit for the whole 7-days in order to get scheduled.
