Elizabeth Byrnes joined the Colgan staff in 2019. She is heading into her 22nd year of teaching. Having taught Art but also a few years of elementary education in Virginia & in NY she has also taught GED, at-risk youth & alternative Ed. within correctional facilities & adult education programs. She sits as the President on the Board of the Fredericksburg Center for Creative Arts in the Historic Silversmith House & Gallery in Fredericksburg. Elizabeth’s own art ranges from mixed media on canvas with acrylics, paper and metals. However, her preference would be within a metal casting/foundry & welding sculpture studio if she had the space & time.
Elizabeth is a proud Dog Mom to Teddy, fiancé to Chad and Aunt of 6 amazing nieces and nephews.
She is constantly trying new courses & art classes to better her craft & apply it to her students work to build upon their skills & teach them new ways of thinking, development & style. She is eager to become part of Colgan & start swimming with the Sharks!
